Kristin’s Team Relations role for the Gordie Howe C.A.R.E.S. Pro-Am perfectly aligns her passions for community, fundraising, event planning and most of all, hockey!
Kristin started a recreational hockey group for her and other Moms in her community as a result of many hours spent at the rink for minor hockey. The outcome has been a continued sense of community, motivation to keep active, a positive competitive spirit, and many late nights with many bottles of wine. Booking ice, hiring coaches, planning tournaments, events and fundraisers has become a favorite hobby.
Kristin is originally from Victoria, BC and has called Calgary home since 2003 when she completed her education through the University of Lethbridge and the Certified General Accounting Association. After a career in Calgary’s Oil & Gas industry, Kristin has spent the last several years home with her 3 children and shifting her career focus to project management in construction and property maintenance with her family business. This has also allowed her to immerse herself in her community taking on many projects and roles.
Her many volunteer roles such as President of Council at her children’s school, plus Lake Bonavista’s Community Association Program Coordinator, and volunteer positions with Breakers Hockey, Knights Hockey and Foothills Soccer has rewarded her with a runner up position in the AB Government Stars of AB Volunteer Awards. She has successfully fund raised, written grants, and managed funds in excess of $1M in the past 5 years for various programs and projects.
Kristin is excited to bring fresh ideas for connecting teams and building support and spirit throughout the year, beyond the weekend of the tournament.
